Student Democratic Engagement
LETTER TO OUR DEMOCRACY
Goal: ASMSU is intrinsically apolitical. However, it is my goal to foster an
engaged, healthy, and safe November election season in which students can both exercise their
civic duties and thrive physically, mentally, and emotionally after results are announced.
Potential Spartan Partnerships: MSU Washington, D.C. Office, ASMSU VP of
Governmental Affairs, CAPS, ASMSU Marketing, MSUPD, ASMSU VP of Academic Affairs.
Work with MSU lobbyists to advocate for policies that will ensure medically safe voting methods for
all students for example, voting by mail or online.
Watch out for, and call for severe consequences on any acts of physical or online bullying based on
political persuasion or voter choice.
Work with CAPS to provide quick and efficient help or mental health concerns that may arise from
dismayed or bullied student voters.
Encourage tolerance throughout the season by bombarding ASMSU social media accounts with necessary
resources and reminders that “HATE HAS NO HOME AT MSU”.
Work with MSU Administration to ensure no classes (online or physical) on election day so that
students can vote.
