SWIPE THAT TASSEL LEFT!
Goal: All students should feel academically and professionally supported enough
to choose MSU over and over again if they could go back in time.
Potential Spartan Partnerships: Potential Spartan Partners: CORES and COPS,
Dream at MSU, Office of Inclusion and Intercultural Initiatives, RHA, MSU Diversity, Equity, and
Inclusion Steering Committee, Resource Center for Persons With Disabilities (RCPD)
Work with CORES and COPS to boost graduation rates of students from disadvantaged groups on campus.
Negotiate for a 1 credit GRE class for GRE.
Push for MSU to subsidize classes that count internships as full credits.
Giving students the option to remain paired with their advisors even after freshman year. This will
ameliorate their advising experience as advisors will be better acquainted to students’ needs.
Work with Colleges and MSU Alumni Association to establish a mentorship program between students and
alumni in the career paths they intend to pursue.
Work tirelessly with the ASMSU VP of Academic Affairs and the Faculty senate to negotiate the Fall
Break so that it gets passed at the University Council.
Find common ground with the University Council of Graduate Scholars (UCGS) to ensure that the new
academic calendar and Fall Break pilot are transformed into permanent options at MSU sooner than the
February 2021 deadline.
Encourage professors at faculty senate to allow students the opportunity to anonymously offer them
and their TAs feedback both midway through the course and at the end of the semester. That way, they
can tailor their teaching methods to students’ needs while the course is still going on.
